Jeep Brand Expanded Its 2007 Model Year Lineup

In the news: The Jeep® brand has expanded its lineup for its 2007 model year.

According to John Plecha, Director for Jeep Marketing and Global Communications, “Jeep is the Swiss Army knife of the SUV market. No other automotive manufacturer in the world has the range of sport-utility vehicles that Jeep has. This impressive portfolio of SUVs provides Jeep dealers with an unprecedented opportunity to grow the brand by offering a variety of products that will excite our current customers and attract new ones.”

The expansion of the Jeep brand happens in two years which in turn signals the production of additional range of Jeep parts like for instance Jeep air deflector to accommodate future demands for replacement parts.

2004 was a great year for Jeep since it was able to form its top three brands which include the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Liberty and the icon of the brand the Jeep Wrangler (2-door).

Then in the year 2005 the Jeep Commander — the first Jeep vehicle with seven-passenger seating capacity was launched as a 2006 model. 2006 was the year when the redesigned Wrangler 2 door was introduced as a 2007 model with three other Jeep vehicles-the Jeep Patriot and Jeep Compass which provide 4×4 Jeep capabilities along with excellent fuel economy, safety and interior flexibility at a price that customers can afford; and the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited which is the first ever four-door Wrangler.

For this year, 2007, the Jeep Grand Cherokee was the first to offer a diesel engine in the full size SUV segment. Its 4.7 liter V8 engine is flex fuel capable giving customers the ability to utilize up to 85% concentration of ethanol or E85 fuel.

High Jeep Sales in US

For 2006, the Jeep brand was able to sell 460,052 vehicles in the United States. It was also last year that the Jeep brand has celebrated its 65th anniversary in 2006.

Jeep started in 1941 when the Willys-Overland company delivered to the US Army 1500 light reconnaissance vehicles called the Willys Quad. Later on improved vehicles were developed and were called the MA and MB. Those vehicles came to be known as the Jeep. During World War II more than 368,000 of Jeep vehicles were built. Over the years, freedom, authenticity, mastery and the capability to go anywhere have become the trademarks of the Jeep brand and the foundation for its SUV leadership worldwide.

Jeep is an automobile marque and a registered trademark of DaimlerChrysler. The marque like all the rest of Chrysler subsidiaries became part of DaimlerChrysler when Daimler-Benz merged with the Chrysler Corporation in 1998.
