There are a lot of things to consider when shopping for your next new car. Obviously, the initial purchase price is a big part of the decision, but that’s certainly not the only sum to factor in. Unfortunately, gas consumption was the biggest question I asked myself when buying a new car over the weekend; we can all admit that gas prices are ridiculous. After getting over the “how many miles per gallon” am I going to get, I started thinking insurance; the cost of gas and insurance need to be added in to figure out the final monthly expenditure. I didn’t realize that buying a car could be so stressful; my list of cars went from 10 to 4 choices after doing the math. Of course, the car is only one part of what drives the insurance you pay; your age, driving history, where you live, even your credit report can all sway that final figure. It got me thinking, what should you drive if you want to save big money on insurance? Below is a list of the 10 most expensive and least expensive cars to insure in 2011 and going into 2012. The numbers are based on total vehicles insured in the country so if you’re looking for Ferrari, Lamborghini and Rolls Royce to be on this list, you’re out of luck.
