Jeep Commander for 2011
The 2010 Jeep Commander appears suspiciously like old Cherokees, but the Jeep enthusiasts are quite happy with its boxy looks. This is a larger sport utility vehicle that carries 7-passengers easily, and comes equipped with stadium seating, rear- (RWD) and V6 engine.
The all-wheel drive (AWD), and V8 engine as well as three moon roofs are optionally available. Both Sport and Limited trims come with standard five-speed automatic transmission, while the Overland trim is discontinued for 2011, which had a 4.7-liter V8.
Drive-Train Details for 2011
The 2011 model is available with a Sport trim with 3.7-liter V6 engine for 210 horsepower. The engine is an all-wheel drive version. Moreover, standard on the Limited and optional on the Sport is a 5.7-liter V8 Hemi that pumps out 357-hp, using Multi Displacement System cylinder deactivation mechanism.
In spite of this, both engines are not fuel efficient at all; you get just about 13/19MPG (city/highways) for the 5.7 and 14/19 mpg for the 3.7.
Chrysler recommends 89-octane gasoline for the 3.7L and 87 for the 5.7L engines.
Cabin & Comfort
The seating of this vehicle is terrible; all seats have firm and flat bottoms, which are not at all comfortable in long journeys. Moreover, the second row has less legroom, and adult passengers can’t sit comfortably in third row due to cramped space.
The stadium seating provides a spacious head room, but the huge rear roof pillars again cut short the shoulder room. Additional safety features on this model are antilock four-wheel disc brakes with brake assist, a rear obstacle-detection system, and an anti-skid system.
Coming to pros and cons of 2011 Jeep Commander, you get a car-like ride with spacious room for rear cargo and front passengers. However, there are many downsides to it, such as terrible fuel efficiency, mediocre interiors, and average performance.
