Project Using Auto Part in Miami That You Can Do At Home
Jeep owners are a hardy bunch. They like to take their vehicles to places and do things that would make the average person cringe with fear. Winch Cover
A lot of people have a winch on the front of their Jeep in order to help them or a friend get out of a jam. But that unsightly flare head on the front of the winch with the hook can detract from the vehicle’s overall appearance. Why not put a license plate in front of it? Here is the general plan.
- Contact a local auto part in Miami dealer and get two flashlight mounting kits. These should look like large clamps.
- Put some double side tape on the bottom of the clamps and attach one clamp on either side of the flare head.
- Put the license plate in place over the tape and mark holes for drilling.
- Using a thin bar or a screwdriver, remove the license plate from the tape.
- Drill holes into the bottoms of the clamps for use with a nut and bolt.
- After drilling, put the license in place and attach bolts and nuts.
- Now you can simply swing the license out of the way like a door since the clamps can be removed from either side of the flare head!
Jack Mount
This is a really simple and useful trick. The Hi-Lift Jack is really popular among off road enthusiasts. But the jack is kind of big and can take up a lot of room. Here is a way to transport it easily, safely, and out of the way. Contact the auto part in Miami dealer and ask for some large C-clamps along with two bolts, two washers and two wing nuts.
Use the clamps to hold the jack on the roll cage bar of the jeep. This can be placed on the underside of the cage bar for people with hard tops or soft tops. The bolts, washers and wing nuts can be used to hold the jack in place so it does not shake loose or make a lot of noise. Very simple to do and keeps the tool handy.
These are just a couple of ideas for some simple modifications to help your ride look better and retain some key features to increase your pleasure.
